Blandy's is the finest Madeira wine producer, bringing together 210 years of history and tradition, always by the hands of the same family. From generation to generation, the unique characteristics of a unique product.

With volcanic origins and privileged geographical location in the Atlantic, unequivocally enhancing the potential for wine expansion, the island of Madeira inspired John Blandy and the heirs who followed in his footsteps. Founded in 1811, Blandy's Madeira established itself as the finest producer of the famous wine from the Pearl of the Atlantic, and remains the benchmark, now under the stewardship of Chris Blandy.

The Blandy clan is distinguished as the only family - of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade - who still own and manage their own original wine company. Its members continue to live on the Island, thus maintaining a tradition that spans two centuries of producing excellent wine from the finest grape varieties.

Chris Blandy is joined by winemaker and director Francisco Albuquerque, who has won many awards. The wines produced have a particularly complex style, long and rich, with a fine acidity - typical of Madeira wines.

To visit Blandy's Wine Lodge in Funchal is to walk through more than two decades of Madeira wine history. Heart of the business, it stores over 650 barrels, aging the family's best wines in the traditional "canteiro" method.

In the portfolio, the special edition "The Winemaker's Selection", launched to celebrate 600 years of the discovery of the autonomous region, stands out. Malvasia, Boal, Verdelho, Sercial and Terrantez from the last three centuries have become the main varieties, making the offer purposely unrepeatable and ready to cross oceans.
