The fragrance that entrepreneur and master perfumer Asghar Adam Ali (Al Attar) created for Nabeel Perfumes' Spirit of Dubai line is worthy of a Thousand and One Nights tale. It took three years and about 500 attempts to come up with the perfect magic formula of what was dubbed the most expensive unisex perfume in the world and a highlight of 2019.

The fragrance is so unique that shoppers had to wait four to six months to take home the masterpiece that combines high perfumery with high jewellery. Adorned with 3571 diamonds, topaz, pearls, 2479.26 grams of 18 karat gold and 5892.88 grams of pure silver, the “Shumukh” is a true three-litre divine cocktail, kept in a luxurious Murano glass bottle that alludes to Dubai's history and cultural heritage through seven key elements. These are: the greatest pearl ever found (Durra), the falconry (Baz), the Arabian noble steed (Abjar), the roses in eternal bloom (Narjesi), the most precious diamond (Haibah) , the home of heroes (Diwan) and the stature of Dubai as a "city of the future" (Aamal). Presented in a case almost two metres high, “Shumukh” provides a quick trip around the world combining notes of amber, sandalwood, musk, pure Turkish rose, frankincense, patchouli ylang-ylang and rare pure Indian agarwood. It can last for more than 12 hours on the skin and up to 30 days on fabrics, making it unforgettable for those who buy it and for those who feel it.
